  • What can I expect from the experience of being in a Collective Intelligence team?

The work our teams do is in enhancing mana through connection.  This involves a diverse family of people who challenge each other, share profound insights, care deeply and create a sense of belonging together.  You can expect to laugh, to be surprised, to be uncomfortable (sometimes), and to learn from people you would not normally spend time with.

  • Will there be people from my own industry in the team?

Wherever possible, no.  There may be someone loosely connected to your business, but we work hard to ensure there are no conflicts of interest within any team.

  • I’m only at the early stage of my career. Is Collective Intelligence still relevant to me?

Absolutely!  We love early-stage members as we find they add vitality and new perspectives to our teams.  Think of it like an accelerator programme with the most tailored and thoughtful advice you could ever want.

  • My business is only very small. Will I be a worthwhile member in a team?

Again, absolutely!  We cater to solo entrepreneurs right through to members of large corporations. It’s not about the size of the operation, but the size of the heart of the individual.

  • Why did Harv set this up originally?

As a company Director, he got frustrated by sending key staff off to courses which weren’t offering any meaningful impact, so thought he could develop something that did.  Harv’s background is as a farmer; he adapted a farm discussion group model which has continued to develop every year into what we now know as Collective Intelligence.

  • Can more than one person from a company join a team?

Yes, but always in different teams. Collective Intelligence is about developing the individual, which, in turn, develops the business.

  • Can partners and family members join Collective Intelligence?

Often, but always in different teams.

  • I’m an introvert and find it hard to have a voice sometimes. How will this work for me?

The teams include a maximum of 9 people, which means both introverts and extroverts can thrive.  We are committed to creating an inclusive experience for a wide range of members, and our skilled facilitators are trained to make sure everyone gets heard.

  • How long do people stay in a team?

The average is around 4 years, with the longest (so far) being 15.  We encourage a minimum commitment of 3 years to get the most from this process and, if you do move on for a time, you can always come back.

  • What attributes do you need to have to be a good team member?

Be interested.  Listen.  Be committed to developing and growing with your team.  Have the guts to be your Competent, Ambitious, Authentic and Curious self.

  • I don’t know exactly what I need right now. Is that an issue?

What you need now, and what you need in 12 months are going to be different.  Don’t overthink it.  Collective Intelligence is a process of evolution, and our membership options are designed to be navigated in a non-linear way as your needs continually evolve.

  • Is there any industry or profession that it hasn’t worked for?

    Not so far.

  • Why so much emphasis on diversity?

It’s one of the very best tools available for making sense of complexity.

  • Do I get to see who else will be in the team?

Absolutely.  You need to be happy with the makeup of your team.  If you don’t like your team, we could shift you, but it hasn’t happened yet!

  • What is the single biggest piece of advice you would give a new member?

The more open and vulnerable you are able to be - in your own time - the more you can grow with your team.
