This event UNhappened in May 2020 (thanks COVID!) and is currently postponed indefinitely

What’s the UNconference? (for when it happens!)

  • It’s a residential, fully-catered retreat – a 30-hour bubble of creativity and ingenuity that brings together a group of awesome people to interact and connect, rather than just sit around and listen to a bunch of speakers on a stage.
  • It takes the peer-to-peer learning model that Collective Intelligence is renowned for and amps it up, connecting like-hearted people in all sorts of intriguing and inspiring ways.
  • It’s a funky, freestyle conference event where there are no formal speakers and where everyone (including our rangatahi/youth) is considered a worthy keynote speaker with something to share. Anyone can volunteer to host a session around their passion (or vice!) in an open and informal way.

Imagine hanging out with 160 of the most interesting people we know (that’s you, wider Collective Intelligence whānau, and your friends) to share what you’re working on and how you’re making a difference in the world.

Let’s activate this community of ours!

Why should I come? (for when it happens!)

Every day we ‘mine’ our creativity and inspiration, often without taking time to regenerate it (and ourselves). Deep in the midst of our busy work lives, we can feel adrift and alone – lacking a community of support. Our UNconference offers you the chance to find ‘your people’ and bolster your support network – for changing the world is a team sport!

Collective Intelligence is at the heart of this UNconference and we want to host a collaborative event that helps you harness the power of the collective (beyond your team) and invite others to join in the mix.

What will I come home with?

Connections, connections, connections: you’ll join the dots with other authentic, curious and courageous people who are fun to be with (and you’ll want to see again).

A community: you’ll take away a deeper sense of belonging to your community, having shared, been inspired and activated by, a collective of like-hearted people.

Fresh thinking: you’ll have been exposed to a huge diversity of thought, had your own perspectives challenged, and challenged those of others.

Rangatahi/youth are welcome at this family-friendly event and we will make sure their voices are included.

Who’s in our Engine Room?

  • Anna Guenther

Anna’s our UNconference Chief Bubble Blower, un-MC and ideas wrangler, unconference veteran, and courageous person up the front (who will ensure that the “loudest people don’t take over” and we don’t just have a “polite mush of consensual agreement” in the DIY agenda-planning phase). Oh and she’s a little bit famous as the co-founder of PledgeMe and as a #collectiveintelligencemember alumna).
  • Harv (Ian Harvey)

#collectiveintelligence founder and Chief Trouble-Maker/Curiosity Officer for this UNconference, Harv is to be found wherever a good idea is brewing and the edgy conversations are to be had. Got an idea for something you’d like to share at the UNconference and want to bounce it around? Get in touch with Harv for a chat about it. He’ll be all ears.
